The market is a different city before eight. Everyone here has been up since four and will be finished by the time most people have decided what to have for lunch. I have been photographing this street for two years and they still give me tea before they let me work.

Asked five strangers if I could take one frame. Got this instead, because one of them decided it should be all of them and lay down in the road to arrange it. Better than anything I had planned.

A man asked me today why I never photograph the food, only the hands. Because there are ten thousand photographs of the food and about eleven of him. That is the whole reason.
