About Yuna Park
I have not been on a plane since 2023. Everything since has been overland, which is slower, cheaper and the only way I have ever actually seen a country instead of its airports.

Fifty-one hours from Seoul by land and sea and one very long bus, to stand in the cold and watch other people pay to go up. Best morning of the trip and I did not leave the ground once.
Reel
Twenty minutes of a road with a mountain at the end of it. No music on this one — the sound is the point.

Fourteen hours, one window

Guesthouse at 2,800 metres. The cloud came up the valley at about four and by five the entire world below this yard had gone. The bike belongs to the man who cooks.

Two ways of arriving somewhere. One took eleven hours on a night train and the other took four days and a van that would not start in the mornings. Neither involved an airport.

Photo
Narrow gauge, four hours late, minus six on the platform and absolutely nobody complaining. The tea came round twice.
